A night out at a FOOD Fesitval in Chiang Mai Thailand

These shrimp are served RAW.
They come with garlic, tomato, basil
and some very hot dipping sauce.
I went to the November Food festival in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Of course they had food beyond description, that is why I took these photos,  so that I could show you what was available.

The ingredients are always fresh, and most of the vendors make a sincere attempt to prepare their food to look good, and taste great.

I ate so much I could hardly move after leaving the festival.
Check out the rest of the pictures to see what you missed, and to plan your next trip to Thailand to taste the variety of Thai cuisine.

Fresh squid and octopus are a well liked side in Chiang Mai. Look at those squid!

There are some shish kabobs with chicken, pork, pineapples, peppers and tomatoes.
They are wonderful.  The Ducks at the bottom of the picture are pretty special.
I reccomend getting one!

I love the meat on sticks that are available all over
Thailand. Tasty, easy to eat and rewarding.
Plus the cost only 25 cents each!

Here are some Tab Tim Fish that are being rotisseried over some charcoal.

Strawberry Fruit Shakes were being sold for about 75 cents.

Here are the raw crabs and mussels that are put into spicy Som Tam Salad.

The crabs were delightful, and I had some of the mussles
as well. They are good in spicy chili sauce

.

Here are the 100 year old eggs, that are so well liked. They taste pretty good, although in the old days, they were fermented with horse urine. ( seriously) They are called Kai Yeow Ma,
which translates to Horse piss eggs.

Hot dogs and cocktail wieners are very popular in Thailand.

Hot Dogs and Susages were among the favorites that I noticed, although I didn't have any myself.

A delicious Thai shrimp fried rice was only about $1 per plate. I loved mine!

They were serving French Fries, along with small quail Eggs.

These are two giant cauldrons of soup. Once is sweet, and one is sour.

These jelly pieces are made into a bitter drink, that is sweetened by that condensed milk.

Here are two types of Pad Thai. One has more egg in it than the other.
The darker one has more rice noodles in it.

Of course, there is always Popcorn for snacking!

Here are some dried fish. Too smelly for me.

These plates of giant shrimp are going for 2-3 dollars. They are delicious. And the dipping sauce is sweet and spicy.

These are a type of desert, made out of rice, and the dyed yellow.

Here are some dried mackerel heads.

It was a fun night, and the entire town seemed to show up to get their dinner, listen to music,
and check out all of the food.

There was some great Barbecued Chicken as well.
