Sunday Night Market, Walking Street, Chaing Mai, Thailand. I have been living in Chiang Mai for ten years.

What a nice Sunday evening it was. As usual, the weekly Sunday Night Walking Street was busy with vendors, tourists and locals, all looking for something special to buy. There is something for everyone, and for every taste. Even if it is just a nice long walk after dinner,  or for some people watching. There are people from all around the world. It is an international event, with emphasis on local Thai handicrafts and hand made artisan's work.

Spicy Rice soup.
Some tasty crab cakes,
stuffed back in the shell!

Sunday Night Walking Market is a must for everyone who comes to Chiang Mai.

You will get the feel for town and the gracious hospitality of the Northern Thai people.

This is a silver handicraft, which represents the foot of
The Buddha. A story is told by the pictures inscribed into its sole.

Here is a Thai Chedi,  the spire of a temple.
Small Naga trinkets, in both Gold and natural wood.

Different types of bugs and insects are readily available
for your collection.
Fish  balls, and Thai Style hot dogs.
Pad Thai for sale is only 50 Cents!

These beautiful bowl are made of Mango wood.  I have two of them at home.
Here is a Tuk Tuk (3 wheeled Taxi) made from Beer Chang Cans.

Here are some nice night lights, available for $2 each.

Fresh made Thai Gyoza.
I had them and they were delicious, to 60 cents.

I also ate these small Quail eggs. With Soy Sauce on top
they are a perfect simple snack!

These are Thai Buddhist modern offering dishes.
Each Thai home has some, where food, clothes, water, coke or fruit are offered to
the spirits of the deceased.

Here are some crafts that were made by a local Artist, as toys for children.

Long string light will look great in your apartment,  or they will make a
wonderful present.

These are hand made wooden elephant sculptures. They are sold from anywhere from 2-10$.

Anyone comming to Thailand should get a purse for their mother as gift. At $5 you can't go wrong.

This temple us open at night, and food is sold in front.
Beautiful ornate gold is gilded onto the facia.
A cute skirt.

Local artist made Chinese Warrior statues.
Small ornate painted Urns.
These are pig in-nerd, sausages. They are a bit spicy too.
Here is a hand made wooden elephant sculpture. You can purchase 1 or more and
fit them together to make a one of a kind wall hanging.
A hungry dog.

There are so many paintings and original art for sale. Prices vary widely, but expect to pay less that $30 for one.

The Beatles.   $30 for an original painting.  A bit Andy Warholish, in my opinion.
This painting is 2 feet tall and 3.5 feet wide.

Some freshly barbecued Corn.  Yummy!!!!
Thank you for looking at my Sunday Night Walking Street photos.  Please come to Thailand so you can enjoy it for yourself.

Some fried snacks to munch while walking.

Here is Ploy at one of the main temples at the Sunday night walking market.
