Bungalows in Thailand. A balanced look from a traveler, including many photos of various rooms and what to expect to pay while backpacking or traveling in Thailand.

This post is to help show you what types of rooms and Bungalows you can expect to find and stay in while traveling throughout Thailand. I have taken many pictures, and advise you to first inspect the room and then to negotiate a better price if you decide to take the room.

Make sure you have a BUG net. It is a necessity.
Don't take a room without one, or plan to get no sleep and move the next day.

Bugs bugs, bugs.

Here is Ploy, on the porch of our Bungalow, with our New Honda MSX,
We drove up from Chiang Mai, to Pai this week,  along the road with 1,000 hair pin curves.

Here was our room, with a bug net, and two large double beds.

The sheets were clean and so were our towels. It was an excellent room for $13 dollars a night!

Here is a night time view of a "cool" place to stay.
It is relaxing to listen to the insects of the jungle as you talk and rest, and sleep.
Take a break, your in Thailand, you deserve the right atmosphere!
This is the view from a mountain near Pai, overlooking the town, the river, the many
Bungalow guest houses, and the rice fields.
Here is a TEAK Bungalow.  It was being rented for $35 dollars a night, but had
ambiance, taste, and style. A sure hit with your partner.
A nice clean air-conditioned bungalow, with hot water and
a NICE Bathroom.       Comfort and travel in one package.
$40 a night.

The next bungalow looks exactly the same,
but is going for 1/4 the price.
Style, rustic, peace and quiet.
A hot water bathroom, and a great porch with a nice hammock.
Only $ 13 dollars a night.   Many people pay more, but don't much extra.

Look around, and find a room that suits your need and budget.
Never make reservations, unless you expect to PAY for them.
Here is Ploy, sitting in the shade shack upon the mountain above Pai.
Here is the row of Bungalows I stayed in at the South Sea Resort on Kho Lipe Island, Thailand.
Rooms like this are going for about $12 dollars near the beach.
Kho Lipe is the best place for fresh seafood. Take a good look at this Black Marlin. They will be extinct within our lifetimes, so You better get you marlin steaks while you can. It doesn't get fresher!

Small rooms, without your own bathroom only run $5. However, a late night stroll to the bathroom may be a turn off for some,  it adds an extra adventure for others, while saving some much needed dough.

The location is always important. You don't want to walk to far to the town,
or a nice restaurant for snacks.

A bungalow like this one, with a hot water bathroom, and shower, will cost about $15
dollars per night. It is well planted, and very comfortable. They should include WI-FI, and breakfats.

This is the perfect spot for two couples traveling together, or a whole family.
A spread like this will cost 40-50$ per night, but it is clean, hygienic, and practically bug free!

Here is the walking bridge between many of the cabins, and the town of Pai.
The river is slowly moving and  you can go swimming if you like.

Here are some triangular shape roofed bungalows in a row, along the river side.
Complete with your own table and large cushions
These were going for $18 a night. With attached bathrooms!

Secluded, safe quiet, and comfortable.
Bungalows like this are what to look for.
Nice, simple, atmosphere.

This is the high end type.
One like this will have no bugs, look at the solid concrete surrounding the encapsulated bungalow.
A good night sleep, and a bite-less body are what you can expect to have for $20 per night.

Here is a solid bungalow, above ground, safe, private,
with a hammock and a bathroom.  Definitely includes a bug net and a towel.
Rooms like this go for less that $15 dollars per night. $10 if you drive a hard bargain.

Here is the perfect bungalow if you are to nervous to stay in a real bungalow.
Concrete foundation, sliding glass locking doors, hot water bathroom, and air-conditioning.
A room like this will run $25-40 a night.  A safe bet for someone who wants to be in the right spot,
and can afford it.

A house for rent by the night. Bring your family, cook your own food,
or throw a party for your new friends.
Safety, security and space,  in the right location will run about 40$ per night.

In the afternoon you can take an elephant ride, or go to a local hot spring.

These are nice rooms, for the mid range. They are clean, new and located in a family setting.

$18-20 a night will get you everything you need to comfortable in the spider free pastel style rooms.
The perfect room for a cute couple. Bright, sunny, quiet, peaceful.

Climbing aboard a large elephant can be difficult.

The right spot for dinner, snacks or an evening talk.

Here are two different "resorts," located next to each other.
The one in the foreground is $10 per night, while the concrete solid bungalow in the back ground will go for $15.

  "PAI"
Pai, is the most well know tourist town in the northern Thai hills.

The O stands for "0" miles left to your destination.   This is a popular spot to sit, chat take pictures or sunbath.
is what is written in Thai.
Watch out, a scooter coming through!

Here is the greatest bungalow I have ever seen.
There are three rooms located in the top of this giant tree. It is aptly called " Pai Tree House."
$40 a night per room.
