Chinese New Year 2014 in Chiang Mai, Thailand, at the Chinese Walking Market

I went to the Chinese New Year celebrations last night in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It was held on the side of the Ping River, at the Warrorot Market.

That is where China Town, Chiang Mai is. I wanted to post these pictures right away, so you can enjoy them. I will come back and label the food items soon. It has been a busy week!

 Thank you for looking.

Salmon Steaks for $2 dollars,  and Mackerel for $1.

Mini pineapples. Cut and prepared for you.

Small Samosas, filled with sauce and pork.
They are very good.

Dark Red Curry Marinated Chicken.

Steamed fish with vegetables.

Thingamabobs.

A sweet Thai desert drink, similar to a
liquorish.

Here is one drink being made.

All the ingredients to make the Famous Thai Som Tam Salad.

Also added are shrimp, squid and crab.

Som Tam Salad,  with "raw" papaya.

Pad Thai,   made for many.

I thought these fish were beautiful. I loved the chili that was spread
all over them.  5 Star attempt.
Last but not least, Japanese style chicken Gyoza.
I love these things.

Thank you for looking. I hope you have enjoyed this post.
Please come out to Thailand next year, to be here yourself for Chinese New Year.
And take a look at our four Thai cook books.  Thank you,
John and Play.
